Wednesday was just not a great day in our house. First my husband called from work to let me know that the overtime he usually works is being cut. Not necessarily an issue except that right after that I went to pick up our car from the mechanic.
He informed me that my husband was not allowed to drive the car out of town and we need $1000.00 worth of work. That was not something I wanted to hear after being told our monthly income will be lower.
After stressing out about it for the day I think we have things in a better perspective now. We have been here before when I lost my job in 2007. That was a major budget redo, this will just be a slight budget redo.
We still have areas where we overspend and we can cut that out. Also, I am already working on lowering the bills.
There are a lot of inexpensive things we can do with the boys this summer and I discovered on our vacation that they don't care how expensive it is. Family time is so much more important than electronic gadgets they don't need anyway.

I am sorry that this happened. Job and car stuff can add such strain, and I am glad that you are looking at it in the right way!!
I'm sorry about your husband's job and your car. I do hope things get better and that you also get to enjoy your time as a family this summer. It's true that the best things are often free. :)
