It's the end of the world as we know it

Why did I say everything was pretty boring lately?

Why??? Really, why??

Today I am having a major crisis. A MONUMENTAL crisis.

My computer does not work. I guess you could say it crashed but really it died in it's sleep.

Last night I was on the computer and it was making a noise. It seemed to be working pretty hard so I thought it just needed to rest. I turned it off and thought I would turn it on this morning.

But it won't turn on. No light. No noise. NOTHING.

Living in a small town, that computer is my LIFE LINE or as I told the girl at Best Buy, at least an arm.

Apparently we didn't buy the extended warranty either. We ALWAYS buy the extended warranty. We bought it on our camera. We got it on our cars but we didn't get it on the $1200 hard drive we bought less than 2 years ago.

I called HP and they talked me through several things but none of them worked. So tonight we are taking it to Best Buy and dropping it off for a diagnostic test.

Now for free I am going to give you some advice. You know when they tell you to back up your hard drive?? WELL, LISTEN AND BACK IT UP!!! I have a years worth of pictures that I am afraid of losing on that computer. I don't care about anything else just the last year of my children's life caught on camera that could be gone forever if it is the hard drive.

PLEASE say a little prayer for me and my computer. If it is the motherboard, I think we will just buy a cheap hard drive until we save up for a laptop and I will never buy an HP product again.

I am praying for your computer. I had the same thing happen to me last summer - except I lost everything on it. Pictures, everything. The Man is supossed to try and see if we can get the stuff off the dead hard drive, but he hasn't gotten to it yet. Hopefully we'll be able to get some of that back. I hope you have better luck than me. :)

That stinks. I hope it comes through!

The past couple weeks I have been uploading ALL my pictures to kodak...just in case. That way they are at least out there. I take a ton of pictures, so I don't want to risk it.

I am sorry about your computer. I understand mine died earlier this year. It was an HP too, but it was getting old.

Do you have an external hard drive? I bought one when my old computer died because, I, too lost a lot of memories. I started putting pictures on photobucket too. Good luck, I hope yours aren't lost for good.
