Okay, many of you may have already realized this but my blog is just for fun. It is just for me to stay sane in my crazy house with all these men. Seriously, a girl needs to chat.
I don't blog to make money. Although I did make some money in the beginning. Of course, I'm not going to say I wouldn't blog to make money because, come on, I'm not going to turn down money. Well, I might, but it would depend on the situation. A girl has to have some morals.
So, I was explaining to my husband that I need a laptop computer. We do have a nice computer. We have had it almost two years and it is still nice. It isn't too slow and it doesn't do crazy things so I am happy with it. But I really want a laptop.
I want one for several reasons.
The first being WiFi. I want to go to a stinkin' coffee shop and use my computer while sucking down my hot chocolate. I want to sit on my front porch or back deck or living room sofa and use my computer.
The second reason is because I want to go to BlogHer. I realize that this conference is probably for more professional bloggers and I so do not fit that category but I just really want to go and hang out in a hotel and do some shopping (I assume they make time for shopping) and hang out with other women bloggers.
I really hope they have it in St. Louis next year. That is the only shot I have of being able to go. The other choices are Portland and Philadelphia. I am not seeing that happening. I can DRIVE to St. Louis. I would have to fly to Portland or Philadelphia. Not that I mind flying. Oh wait, yes I do, I hate flying. If I can get by in life without flying, I will.
I can count the number of times I have flown on one hand. I had to fly to visit my father twice when I was younger because I guess the court mandates that stuff, visiting your parents. The only time I have flown as an adult was to Ireland three years ago on a family vacation. Because my other option was to not go to Ireland and I was so not going to do that.
Okay, so was this blog the biggest tangent I have ever gone on? So to review, I want a laptop, I want to go to BlogHer, and I don't like to fly.
I will stop rambling now. :)

I hope they decide to have it in St. Louis! I could drive there easily! Save $$ on plane tickets!
Oh, my goodness! BlogHer is NOT just for more "professional" bloggers, it's for ALL of us! I blog for fun, too. Well, for fun and for venting. The BlogHer ads on my blog do bring in a little money each month but I blogged before I had them and I'd keep on blogging if I didn't have them, too.
My point, and I do tend to be long-winded (sorry) is that BlogHer is exactly right for ALL of us. You, me, women who make tons of money, women who rant and rave, women who brag about their kids, women who have no kids, mothers who work outside of the home, mothers who work INside of the home, crafty women, talented women, women like me with NO talents, old, young, middle-aged, political, non-political. . . . there is something at BlogHer for all of us.
Please come next summer. It would be lovely to meet you!
I will be the very large, very shy one, standing half-hidden by the curtains.
I'm voting for either St. Louis or Philly. Wherever it is, I'll have to fly.
I hope to see you there.
If I could afford to go to BLogHer I would so go to St. Louis. I am not a fan of flying either, so I don't know if I could go to the others. Straight shot down to St. Louis...
I would LOVE to have a laptop...if only I could convince hubby...
Hey, maybe we can carpool if it's in St. Louis! I really would love to attend too! I'm with you on the laptop thing. After having a laptop that can actually FUNCTION as a laptop, and now having one with a broken screen that I have to hook up to another monitor so I can see what's going on, I am no longer portable and it's KILLING me. I MAY be getting another this month, but sadly it won't be one as nice as this one WAS. But as long as I can once again visit my favorite coffee shop and type away, I'll be smiling!
Carpooling to St Louis! I can't live without my laptop... I can't even use a "real" keyboard anymore. Pathetic, I know.
