There are a lot of things I don't talk about on my blog but there is one thing I have finally decided to talk about. My utter dislike of reality TV.
What I mean is I really don't like reality TV. I don't care for it AT ALL. I guess I really didn't think it was too weird but I think I could actually be one of the only people on earth that does not watch reality TV.
I do not watch American Idol, Survivor, America's Next Top Model, Project Runway, Big Brother, and the other fifty million reality TV shows that have taken the place of good old-fashioned, well-written TV shows.
I didn't really discover this until I had a few recent conversations with my mother. The first conversation went like this....
My mom: "Do you watch Nashville Star?"
Me: "No. I don't watch reality TV. I like dramas, oh, and a few comedys."
My mom: "Do you watch The Last Comic Standing?"
Me: "No mom, I don't watch reality TV. I don't watch any of it."
My mom: "Ok, I have to go because I am going to watch Nashville Star."
The next day I called her and asked what she was doing....
Me: "What are you doing?"
My mom: "Watching another stupid reality show."
Okay, those may not have been her words, I may have improvised for her but seriously, remember the good old days when we had really good shows that made us laugh because they were well-written not because somebody was on TV acting stupid, if you want to call it acting.
I guess since we are on the topic of television, do you know what else I miss? Reruns.
I miss summer reruns where you got to catch up on the shows you missed instead of watching a new season of another reality show.
Okay, well I guess that was enough confessing for one day. That probably saved me at least one visit to the therapist. Just Kidding. :)

I like reality shows, but not all of them. Can't get into some of them. But, I love the reruns. I need to remember what happend on Grey's...it is vital.
Yeah, reruns...where are you???
I'm not a big fan of most reality TV either. In fact, the only ones I watch, but not religiously, are Top Chef and Flipping Out (which really feels more like a comedy when you watch it).
I've never watched The Bachelor or Nashville Star (sorry, Melody's mom!). I used to watch American Idol occasionally just because my family liked to watch it and I'd get sucked in, but I'm really tired of it. Project Runway, Big Brother, Survivor, etc. Yeah, I couldn't care less. I just want to scream at some of those people to get a life!
Well, not the people on The Big Loser, however, because they're pretty courageous to go on the show.
Okay, sorry this was a completely rambling comment! Just wanted you to know that you're not alone! Really, I think we were destined to be BFFs! :)
Oh, you're so not alone - I'm with you on this one. I hate that these so-called reality shows are taking up space where good shows should be.... and about the re-runs? yeah, what you said, exactly! I need to catch what I missed 1st-run.
Oh, do HGTV and Foodnetwork shows count? cuz I like those...
